Special Needs of Young and Old

When someone moves or relocates to a new home, experience shows two groups of people need extra time and empathy—families with young children and seniors. Not because they are fragile, but because they tend to share a similar life experience, which is living in the same place for a relatively long time.

For instance:

- A 10-year-old who has lived in a home for six years

- A 30-year-old who has lived in a home for 18 years

- A 70-year-old who has lived in a home for 42 years

The people in the above scenarios have one things in common: They have lived in the same home for 60% of their life. Although 60% isn’t a magic number, it’s enough time to that  imagining a new home or community adds an emotional impact.

Whether they are young or old, I work with the  whole family to help them imagine a new home with the resources they need to make their next move smooth, easy and something to look forward to.

When you introduce me to people who need extra care and understanding, I will always meet their real estate needs while remembering to address important emotional needs that exist in every move.

Thank you for trusting me with the most-special people in your life.

Do You Know Your Number?

The real estate market is shifting significantly right now. Before last year, most homeowners would not imagine selling a house for the prices being offered today. Current home sale prices are being compared to the types of returns investors get during stock market surges and crypto- currency spikes. Homes continue to sell in hours and days, rather than weeks and months.

Even if you are not thinking about selling your home, there are three questions you should ask yourself:

  1. How much MORE is my home worth today?
  2. What amount of money, if offered, would cause me to move?
  3. If the current situation continues, what is my best-case scenario?

Knowing your number does not mean you are committed to moving, but it does mean you are committed to being prepared. Every real estate market is different. This market is here today, and I remain committed to provide you with the most timely and accurate information. If you or someone you care about is curious about these numbers, call or text me and I can help you be prepared.

In the Big House

There is an old adage in real estate which says, "Don't buy the largest house on the street." For decades, it was a good idea to buy a home that fit just right in the neighborhood. If most homes on a street had 3 or 4 bedrooms, it was not a good idea to buy a home with 5 bedrooms and an office and an extended family room.  We're now seeing a shift, and based on current home buying behavior, the market indicates that people believe the trend to work from home will continue and maybe even expand.

We see people eagerly searching for large homes with enough rooms to accommodate dual home offices and classrooms. Many people are looking to move to rural areas in search of larger homes with the ability to expand.

People who have large homes and no longer need all of that space are in a great position to sell quickly. The next time you notice a friend, family member or neighbor who has more room than they want, send us a quick text and let's talk about all the ways we can help them.
